MANAWATU BRANCH Following a council meeting a general meeting of tho Manawatu branch of the Registered Nurses’ Association was held in the Plunket rooms, King street, on Friday evening, the president, Miss McKenny (Pahiatua) being in the chair. There was a good attendance and general business and correspondence were given attention. On tho motion of Miss McLagan a vote of sympathy was passed with Miss McGhie, matron of tho Palmerston North Hospital, in her recent loss by the passing of her mother. The secretary was authorised to write a letter to Miss McGhie conveying the members ’ sympathy. Five new members were elected to the hoard.
Miss McKenny gavo an interesting report on the conference of tho National' Council of Women, held recently in Dunedin, and was accorded a hearty vote of thanks on the motion of Misses Halpin and McLagan. A delightful supper concluded the evening.
