Halcombe Women's Division

The Halcombc-Kakariki branch of the Women’s Division of tho Farmers’ Union held the monthly meeting on September 26 in the hall, Mrs Aynsley, presiding over a fair attendance. One new member (Mrs Brett) was welcomed and enrolled. Apologies for absence were xeceived from Mesdames Colquhoun, Nairn, J. Blunden and Neil Blunden. The afternoon was given over entirely to business. It was decided to send 5s donation to Flock House boys’ fund. All members were asked to use health stamps throughout October. It was also agreed upon to make October book month in future. A dance and nigger minstrels, with, play and step dancing by tho juniors is to be held in the near future. Afternoon tea was served by tho hostesses, Mrs Green, Mrs. and Miss Callingbam.
