JTrom Oar Own Correspondent. Rangitikei Golf Season Closes. The Rangitikei Golf Club was favoured with a beautiful day for their closing day : on Saturday, when a largo gathering of i lady and gentleman players took part in a mixed foursome. The winners of this were Miss Trlcker and Mr R. Mackay with a net score of (ill. Next in order were Miss Nancy Wilson and Mr Jf*. S. Collier, with a score of (if. A,t the afternoon iea garnering *.rr iv, A». juairyinpie (president) made a few congratulatory remarks, paying tribute t„ the finalists of the ladies' title (Misses M. Trlcker and C. AVilson). The speaker remarked on the very successful season the club had had, and said much credit could be given to the greenkeeper, Mr L. Huddleston, Thanks were due to Mr and Mrs Tricker for the use of their property for playing on, and also Messrs .Levin and Co. for donating the black and white cup. After cheers had been called for Miss Tricker and Mr Ngaio Anion (club champions), Miss Olga Lovett was then called on to present the trophies, which sho did as under: Championship cup (Mr A. W. Anion’s trophy), Ngaio Anion; runner-up (presented by Air lv. W. Dulrymple), R. I l ’. Scott; Llack and White cup for middleweight title, Gordon Drew; run-ner-up, Mr R. O. Dalrymplo’s trophy), L. V.' Homes.' ' Junior title (anonymous donor), G. Bertram; runner-up (Mr A. W. Anion’s trophy), W. T. Dean. "The Mug’s" cup, C. C. Brice; runner-up, A. K. Drew. Stroke competition (Mr R. O. Seafield Players Visit Bulls. The annual match with the Seallekl Club was played on the Bulls course on Sunday in perfect weather. The morning was devoted to fourball play, and Rangitikei won four games to two, ono being halved. The afternoon pairs also saw .the local team on top with nino wins to seven, two halves being recorded. At the conclusion of the afternoon Mr Iv. AV. £>alrymple, president of the Rangitikei Club, thanked the Seafield players for coming to Bulls, and said their visit gave the local men much pleasure. Mr R. D. Smart, vice-president of the visiting club, responded. Results are carded below, with the visitors being mentioned first in each instance: — Fourball: F. 11. Bell and A. Bamont lost to N. H. Conditions were ideal on the Bulls Defence Rifle Club’s range on Saturday. R. B. McKenzie topped the score with 96/luu which included a possible at 500 yards. Scores are given below: R. McKenzie 40, 50, 90; B. Huddleston 47, 49, 96; J. B. Robins 40, 48, 94; Geoff Ellery 46, 46, 98; A. Stevenson 43, 47, 90; F. Simpson 43, 47, 90; 11. Meads 44, 40, 90; P. Thorby 43, 40, S 9 Thursday’s Dance at Bulls. The stage is all set for the big dance in the Bulls town hall on Thursday night, the function having been organised by the Bulls It.S.A. in aid of the local Plunket Society. Music is to be supplied by Ted Cook’s Alelodymakers, and admission prices are: Badies Is and men 2s 6d. It was announced in error on Saturday’s issue that ladies were to be charged 2s, but the price is to be as last year. Ladies’ Hockey Team for Horowhenua. To-morrow the Rangitikei ladies’ hockey representatives will play the Horowhenua representatives at Bevin and the visitors’ team will be: Goalie, M. Fitches; backs, G. Hawkins and P. Carpenter; halves, M. AVilliams, B. Managh and E. Bow; forwards, Mrs Griffin, P. Iwikau, B. Staples, I. Coles and C. Rogers; reserve, M. Moso. Airs A. PI, AVing will act as chaperone of the party and Air AV.' G. Aitken will be tho manager.
