Kimbolton Road Level Crossing

At last evening’s meeting of the Feilding Chamber of Commerco reference was made to tho Government’s proposals to improve railway levelcrossings and Mr G. J. Fitzpatrick stated that in tho initial list of works to be done no crossing anywhere near Feilding was included. Ho certainly thought that the Kimbolton road crossing should receive attention and moved that tho question be put before the member for tho district.'

Following a brief discussion the chamber resolved to ask Hon. J. G. Cobbe to represent the position of the Kimbolton road level-crossing as one calling for improvement. Touching on the traffic holdups on tho crossing, tho Mayor (Mr T. Collins) said that it was most annoying for citizens to suffer the inconvenience they did almost daily. Previously arrangements were made by the statiomnastor to break the trains in order to allow traffic to pass, but lately tho trouble was becoming acute. Mr G. J. Fitzpatrick said that the stationinaster had asked to be told if there was undue delay by trains on the crossing, and the speaker felt that the matter cou’ld readily be rectified.

It w T as agreed to leave the matter in the hands of the secretary to see the stationmaster.
