Boeing Transport Plane Visits Milson

SEPTUAGENARIANS AS PASSENGERS

Considerable interest was evinced in a large aeroplane which flew over the city yesterday afternoon about 2 o'clock. It was a Boeing transport machine and one of the fleet now m the South Island.

Piloted by Mr. K. It. Johnston, of TimarUj and accommodating four passengers, the biplane had been visiting Masterton, Gisborne, Hamilton and Hew Plymouth. It arrived at Milson airport yesterday after a- flight from Hamilton and, after a very brief stay, departed for Wellington. AVitli a following -wind the large machine, with its single engine of 53U horsepower, was soon out of sight. It had a body painted blue and had yellow wings, the registration lettering being ZK—ADA'. HAMILTON, .Last Night. When the Boeing biplane left the Waikato airport this morning, it carried among the passengers Mr. and Mrs. John Griffiths, of Cromwell (Otago), both septuagenarians enjoying their first long-distance flight. The machine will reach Wellington to-day and leave for Dunedin, via the West Coast, later in the week.

Interviewed prior to his departure, Mr. Griffiths said jie had no qualms about the trip. Both he and Mrs. Griffiths had been up in smaller planes previously and had enjoyed the experience immensely.

WELLINGTON, Last Night. The Boeing plane arrived at Kongo tai aerodrome at 3 p.m.
