Wairuna Held Up at Vancouver

UNFAIR CARGO ALLEGED VANCOUVER. Kept. 23. The crew of the W’airunn, from Australia, refused to give steam to permit the unloading of cargo because it was alleged they would be handling unfair cargo, claiming Hi at it had been handled by strike-breakers during ike longshoremen’s strike inaugurated ou June -1.

One member of the Wairuna’s crew is iu hospital here, and his place must be taken by a seaman nominated oy the (Seafarers’ Industrial Union who is

acceptable to the crew. When the matter is cleared up the crew' will decide wehther to take the Wairuna home or tie her up at Vancouver.
