From Our Own Correspondent. Hie monthly meeting of tho school committee was held on Monday evening there being present Messrs Shaw (chairman), B. Russell -(secretary), Moore and Duncan. Miss Thompson (headmistress) was also in attendance. An apology for absence was received from Mr Carkeek, who is ill in hospital and tho meeting expressed their sympathy and hoped he would soon be restored to health and ihie to attend meetings once more. Miss Thompson reported that the roli number was now 61, four new pupils being admitted at commencement of the term. It was decided to have the fences repaired and several trees cut down as theso were considered dangerous to the safety of tho children. Drama Circle. The W.I. drama circle and the local school are giving an entertainment in aid of their joint funds next Friday night. The drama circle is presenting three plays: "The Black Horseman” (drama), 'A World AVithout Men” (comedy which received very favourable comment, at the recent drama festival), and a humorous sketch. Special interest is being taken in this performance as it is tiie first time men havo been included in tiie cast. The school children will supply tiie rest of the programme and as they have been practising assiduously for some time, patrons are assured of a splendid evening's entertainment. Supper will bo provided and a dance will follow fpr which a professional orchestra lias been engaged. Patrons are requested to be in their seats in good time as the performance will begin promptly at eight o'clock,
