Butter for Boys of Bulldog Breed
.SHOULD REPLACE MARGARINE Per Press Association. HAMILTON, Last Night. That Iho British Army, Navy, aud Air Force was now supplied with margarine iu preference to Empire butter was a fact revealed by Mr. C. P. Agar, deputy-chairman of the Dairy Produce Board, when addressing suppliers of the New Zealand Co-operativo Dairy Company to-day.
In reply to a question as to whether the British forces were supplied with New Zealand butter, Mr. Agar said that the board had made inquiries into the position and had been informed that the ration consisted of margarine. It was, however, hoped that this policy on the part of the Mar Oiliec might I>C altered, and all was being done to capture the potential market. The secretary of the board (Mr, T. Brash) added hat a letter received from the War Office iu plied that "butter was considered too expensive to purchase for rations.
A remit was passed urging tho Dominion conference to consider tho possibilities of having butter included iu tho rations of me British Army, Navy and Air Force, and to approach the British Government with a view to having the margarine issuer substituted by butter.
