Mrs Edwards Farewelled By Playreading Circle
The members of the playrcading circle of the Mauawatu Women's Club met at Messrs Collinson ami Cunning haute's tearooms on Friday, (lie guest of honour being- Mrs Edwards, who leaves shortly to take up her residence in Christchurch. The tearoom was with spring flowers, orange shades predominating; Mrs Edwards carried a Victorian, posy in delicate-shades, this being presented to nor by Mrs Cranston. Miss Cranston, convenor of the circle, expressed the great regret of alt the members at the departure of so valued a reader and performer as Mrs Edwards, who had always so charmingly portrayed the characters assigned her in performances, her delightful work as au artless ingenue being especially appreciated! On behalf of the circle the speaker asked Mrs Edwards to'accept-a tinted witch' bowl, with ali possible good wishes for her future success and happiness. Mrs Edwards feelingly replied.
