From Our Own Correspondent. The initial social and dance of the newly formed Young People’s Associa-tion-of the Anglican Church was acid on Wednesday night. There was a very good attendance of members and friends and all present were happily entertained with musical items, competitions and dancing. Those contributing to the programme were Mrs Stanbra, pianoforte solo; Misses Feist and Berkahn, songs; and a recitation by Miss Mona Thompson. A party from Shannon ' staged a playette which was greatly enjoyed. Miss Xora Croad played the accompaniments and the music for dancing was provided gratuitously by Mr AA'. Durkin. Messrs Stafford Pearce and Ivan Dunford acted as .Al'sC. Rev. J. S. Kennev congratulated the young people oil the success of the evening and hoped that tiie association would be the means of promoting friendly intercourse among the church members.

Tiie first meeting of tho recently formed To Kawau group will be held in toe Rangiotu hall on Wednesday, August -a, commencing at 1.30 p.m. A feature ot the afternoon will be a lecture and demonstration on physical culture and calisthenics bv Aliss Freda Shaw, of AAel - lington. As a very large number of visitors is expected, local members are reminded to bring two plates of cakes. Drama Circle. The AV.T, drama circle entered a team in the recent festival held in Palmerston North. The team Is to be congratulated on a very fine performance. _ Although they were not placed by the judge, he commented very favourably on their effort and they certainly met with a very good reception from the audience.
