MANAWATU AREA’S VENTURE ASSURED OF SUCCESS Success is assured the festival of drama to-morrow and Thursday, and (lie school following it for the days, both conducted by the Manawatu area of tin- British Drama League. The participation of twelve teams in all indicates that the festival will' not only serve, its purpose of encouraging community drama, but will be vastly enter training. Moreover, the present. of such a complete authority as Professor Shelley, of Christchurch as adjudicator and lecturer, will bo of inestimable able value tu ail drama lovers. It 's intended that on "Wednesday and Thursday nigh.ts nobody will be admitted to the auditorium during the presentation of a play. Doors wilt be open until 7.30, and from then on at half-hour intervals. The Women's Institute festival having been finalised, it. can be announced that the two teams to participate in Lie League festival are Pohangina, presenting "The 'Witch's Brew” by Dorothy McCardle, and I-’oxton, which won the W.I. cup for an all women’s team. Tlieir choice is ‘‘Women At War” by Edward Percy. The junior festival on Thursday afternoon will begin at, 3 p.m; the admission charge being sixpence. Charges at the senior festival on each night wilt be 1/- and 1/6.
