From Our Own Correspondent. Present at the monthly meeting of tlie school committco wore .Messrs G. At. Hyde (chairman), E. Kilgour (secretary), J. Hughes, O. Gollis ami G. Davey. Tlie report of All- F. Cummins, the head master, stated that the roll number was 55 with an average attendance of 48, this being caused by the prevalence of chicken-pox and influenza among tlie children. Accounts amounting to ill 17s 4d were passed for payment. The chairman reported that the school ball bold recently had proved a successful function both socially and financially, tho net proceeds amounting to i’s. \
Arbor Day was celebrated at 4ho Kairnnga school last Wednesday afternoon. Air G. Al. Hyde introduced Air .1. Linklater, who gave an interesting address on Hie origination of Arbor Day and the planting and growing of trees. The inclemency of the weather however, prevented tlie planting of trees. Afternoon tea was served in Ihc hall.
