PASTORAL RENTS IN QUEENSLAND The Court recently determined in Brisbane the rents upon a number ot Queensland Central sheep runs, some fourteen in all. The rents were on the average inercasd by about 5 per cent.

In each case the rental is based on shillings per annum per square mile. The rates vary from 3G/- up to 133/4. A square mile comprizes G4O acres, so it may be realised the low value of theso properties. The rentals actually work out : t 2-3 d for the lowest, to 22-3 d per acre per year for the highest. Capitalised at 5 per cent., these represent land valued at 1/2 up to 4/5 per acre. LOCAL.
