London's Effective Air Defences

CITY NOT SO VULNERABLE (British Official’ Wireless.) RUGBY, July 2-1. An official communique ou last night’s air exercises issued from the Air Ministry shows that Loudon is not so vulnerable as unofficial comment has led many to think. The fighters can be said to have inflicted very heavy casualties among the attacking force.

Last oveuiug eight squadrons of bombers carried out raids and only one full squadron completely evaded the defending fighters. During the night phase thirty raids were carried out and eleven of theso were intercepted. In the early morning a concentrated attack on London targets was made by eight squadrons, and seven of them were intercepted.
