Marton Rugby fans were given a shock on Saturday when Old Boys, who lasl Saturday defealed Halcombu, struck their colours to Mangaweka. on the latter team's ground. On paper it looked as if the Marlon team would bo able to account tor Mangaweka, as the latter Proved no match for Halcombe in the _ last clash between the two teams. were unable to foot it with Toko-Stan-way, and tins latter owe much of their success to the great game played by Maurice Waldin. As expected Hunterville failed to take the field against Halcombe, and they should now withdraw in order to save playing byes. This month Rangitikei has a big programme of representative games. On July 17 the senior team plays Oroua at Kimbolton and the juniors meet Te Kawau at Rongotea. Then later come dual matches against Taihape. Results: — Senior Games. Mangaweka 9, defeated Old Boys 3, played at Mangaweka. Toko-Stanway 14, defeated Lulls 3, played at Stamvay. Hunterville forfeited to Halcombe. Junior Matches. Ohingaiti 14, defeated Bulls nil. Halcombe 14, defeated Athletic, nil.
