Feilding Stock Sale
FAT SHEEP VALUES REMAIN FIRM STORE SHEEP MARKET STEADY Prices for fat iambs at yesterday’s Eeiiding stock sale were well up to late rates with sales still maintained in advance of schedule quotations. In the case of ewe mutton values for the better quality lots recovered somewhat on late rates, while wether mutton values remained unaltered. The fat cattle offering included a nice pen of A.A. bullocks which realised £S —a price in keeping with the quality of the beasts. Other lines, which were mostly dairy sorts, made late rates. The offering of store sheep included a large number of “tail coders.’’ Only good quality stock was in demand ana the inquiry for ewes in lamb was firm with values holding well. Store lambs were fully up to late rates. The store cattle market was very unsteady with the bulk of the business handled by private treaty. There ivas little movement in the dairy lines although the indications are that values are inclined to firm up, a condition of affairs to be expected in the case of early calvers of quality, owing to the improved tone at Home.
