PERSONALITIES
Mr. J. V. Kyle,’ who has been recuperating at Tangiijjpaua during the last three weeks, is reported to be making a good recovery, and is expected to be back at his post at Station 2ZO on Thursday evening. Mr. lan M. Ross, late manager i'or Mr. B. H. Just, has left for ’Wanganui, where he has taken up a responsible position with the Wanganui Produce Company. During his stay in Palmerston North ho was an active member of the Rugby Referees’ Association and also a very enthusiastic secretary of the AVost Coast Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Cycling Association.
One of the former teachers of the Sanson School, Mr. Walters, passed away on April 1U at the residence of his son, Mr. 11. Walters, of Wellington. Deceased, when head teacher of the Sanson School, endeared himself to Ins pupils by his kindly disposition and his keen interest in their welfare, llis death will be regretted by many of the former pupils of his days. Mr. Walters took a great deal of interest in sport, especially cricket, lie was 72 years of age and was predeceased by his wife some .18 months ago. He now leaves to mourn their loss, “ue sou to whom all past pupils extend their sympathy.
