Women's Division of the Farmers' Union

SHANNON BRANCH The anmial meeting of the Shannon W.D.F.U. was held on March 13, Mrs Best presiding over a good attendance. Mrs Neiderer,' of Palmerston North, a voluntary organiser, was welcomed as guest of the evening. The balance-sheet was read and adopted and reports of the year’s activities were submitted, a satisfactory cash balance being in hand. Officers for the new year were elected as follow: —President, Mrs Best; vice-presidents, Mesdames K. Mitchell and S. Barber; secretary and treasurer, Mrs Guerin; advisory members, Mesdames Best and Guerin.

It was -decided to tender for the catering for Easter Monday sports. Congratulations were extended to Mrs Charter on the birth of her daughter, the first Division baby. Supper, which was shared by members of the Farmers’ Union, concluded the evening..
