GIPSY MOTH’S VICTORY. A hostile demonstration was mado at the Paeroa races on Monday when Gipsy Moth returned to scale after winning the Paeroa Handicap in most decisive fashion. People lining the birdcage Tails hooted the winner and cried "Put him out” (states the New Zealand Herald). After having scored a first and a second at Te Aroha, a first and a second at Pukekohe and a first at To Rapa, Gipsy Moth was made a hot favourite for the St. Patrick's Handicap at Pacroa on Saturday. He faded in the last little bit and finished fifth. In yesterday’s race he drew No. 1 position at the barrier and after being, accompanied by King Ford in the early stages drew away to win by three lengths. The heavier going was plainly to his liking.
