From Our Own Correspondent. School Committee. Last Monday evening Mr. Richardson presided over a meeting of the school committee. Also present were Messrs. D. Rowland, N. P. Nielsen, E. P. Nielsen and M. Voss (secretary). It was decided to hold the school picnic on February 22 at the Foxton beach. Arrangements for transport were left in the hands of Messrs. D. Rowland and 15. P. Nielsen. The sjorts programme was to be arranged by the teacher. Six months’ leave of absence was granted the secretary, Mr. Max Voss, who Is shortly leaving for a trip abroad. In .his absence his duties.v ill be taken over by Mr. 15. P. Nielsen. Mr. A. J 5. Brown is acting in the capacity of relieving teacher until March L when Mr. Robertson takes up his duties, as resident teacher. Personal. Miss Xoeline Voss has left to take up a course of study at the Wanganui Girls’ College. Miss Flora Matheson is away visiting in New Plymouth, Albert Judd, who was injured in a motor accident on Tuesday, is progressing favourably. The local branch of the Women's Institute hold their first meeting this year, on Wednesday afternoon, when there was a good attendance of members.
