Poulter and Petley (England) defeated Mrs. Corbett and Hartnell in the final game of the England-New Zealand match, giving England victory, by four rubbers, eight games, 316 points, to two rubbers, seven games, 1173 points, in the first phase of the triangular Test,
The second phase, Australia v. England, was then begun. Eirst matches in tnc England-Aus-tral’ia contest resulted: Petley (England) defeated MeCleery (Australia); Hunt (Australia), defeated Du Pro (England) j Windsor (Australia) defeated Poulter (England); Hunt (Australia) defeated Wemyss (England). Progress totals are: England, one rubber, two games, 91) points; Australia, three rubbers, six games, 161 points.
