Sealing of Kimbolton Highway

DELAY DISAPPOINTS KIWITEA COUNTY COUNCIL “I cannot understand why they are holding up the work of getting on to tho permanent scaling of Kimbolton road," said Cr. W. Hair at yesterday’s meeting of the Kiwitea County Council. "The Main Highways Board practically forced us into doing tho work and we havo done everything required of us and wo are held up waiting for someone's signature. They have got tho money and want us to spent it," he went on. "Well, why don’t they get on with tho business?"

The chairman (Cr. L. T. McLean) agreed that tho delay appeared unnecessary but ho could not offer any reason why tho work was not being proceeded with. Tho board had appeared, to be in a hurry to do the job and now thero was delay.

The council agreed to bring the matter before the Highways Board when it visited Feilding on December 1 next.
