Congress Will be Largest Party

RESULT OF INDIAN ELECTIONS United Press Association. —By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Tuesday, 7 p.m. DELHI, Nov. 19. Although the final results will not be known for some days, it is already apparent that Congress may enter the next Legislative Assembly with the largest single party. Congress anticipates securing nearly 50 seats out of 146, and with the support of other parties in important divisions, hopes for a narrow anti-Gov-ernment majority, but the balance of power will lie with the Moslems undar Jinn ah. The Congress programme was chiefly opposition to the White Paper, but a constructive feature of the election results is that Congress, instead of abstaining, must now face some realities in the Assembly. Possibly some agreement will be discovered between the Government and Congress, which hitherto have been shaking fists at each other.
