Seccession Petition
WESTERN AUSTRALIA’S CASE. United Press Association. —By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. LONDON, Nov. 15. The Western Australian secessionists announce, after numerous conferences regarding procedure, the investigation of the case by a select committee of Parliament, which will hear the evidence from tlio delegation, which is much more important than the ceremonial presentation of tho petition at the Bar of the House. They have therefore decided to follow iho practice usually pursued in connection with petitions, namely: A member of the House of Commons places the petition in a bag behind the Speaker’s chair. The petition then goes to the Standing Committee. after which, jf certified in proper form, it is placed on the table of the House.
The delegation anticipates that, a, member will then move the appointment of a select Committee to examine witnesses for' and against the caso of the secessionists. It says that the Imperial Parliament alone has tho requisite constitutional anil legal powers to deal with the question:
