P.N. Central Relief Committee
Tho monthly meeting o± - , tho Palmerston North Central Belief committee was held at the Council Chambers yesterday afternoon. There were present: Mr A. E. Mansford, the Mayor (in the chair), Eev. Scotter, Father Herlihy, and Messrs Langley, Hood, Larcomb (honorary treasurer), Chamberlain (honorary secretary), Mrs Trask and Mrs H. Palmer. Apologies for absence were received from Mrs Mansford and Mrs Aitchison.

The officers in charge of tho depots reported as follow: — Pood Depot.—During tho four weeks ending November 17, 2418 rations were issued —an average of 604 per week, y Also 5326 loaves of bread were purchased, and Messrs Boniface Bros, donated buns and scones each week, while 13421b5. of butter were purchased. Iu addition, 31 to’ns of vegetables, mostly potatoes, were purchased, and 8 CAvt. of potatoes were received from Mr Larsen, of Glen Oroua. A quantity of rhubarb Avas received from the Dominion Auctioneering Co. and J. L. Bennett, Ltd. In all 97 families received a daily ration of milk, and 72 pairs of boots were repaired; whilo 136 bags of fireAvood ivere issued. The fuel depot has now been closed down. Clothing Depot. —This has been closed down in the meantime. Accounts totalling £330 4s lOd were passed for payment.
