Salaries of Hospital Employees

RESTORATION OF CUTS The executive committeo reported to the Palmerston North Hospital Board yesterday that it had discussed the question of restoration of salary cuts, which had been referred to by the board, and it was generally agreed that while it was desirable to make some restoration, it was very difficult for the board to do so in tho middle of the financial' year. The committee recommended that the matter should be dealt with when tho next estimates were being prepared, and in the meantime to adjust any anomalies which may arise as the result of two cuts being inflicted on some of the staff at the Otalci sanatorium, whereas only one cut was inflicted on the board's staff. It was decided that tho question of adjusting such anomalies be referred to tho Otaki committee with a view to a recommendation being made to the board.

The Otaki committee reported a recommendation to adjust these by recommending that the scale of salaries for hospital aids be: First year £6O per annum, second year £75 per annum, hospital aids on senior or special duty £BO per annum.
