Tokomaru

From Our Own Correspondent. The fortnightly meeting of the Lind Lodge of Druids was held on Wednesday. Arch Druid Bro. R. W. Guy presided over a good attendance of members. A large number of visitors were present from Oroua and Acorn Lodges, Palmerston North. After Lodge closed a meeting of the Royal Arch Chapter was held. Another of the popular euchre and dances run by the school committee was held last Friday. This function was the best attended so far this season, there being quite a large crowd of card players as well as dancers. Those successful at cards were: Ladies, Mrs. McNab and Mrs. Gyde; men, Mr. Morgan and Mr. Anderson. A largo fruit cake donated by Mr. Grady, was won by Mr. Schwass, junr. Mr. and Mrs. Rowlands were the winners of the Monte Carlo waltz. The music was supplied by Mr. Frank Perry and Mr. R. Guy. Mr. Knyvett kindly played several extras. Mr. R. W. Guy, chairman of the school committee, thanked all for their attendance and announced that the Rifle. Club will bo holding a dance shortly. The local tennis court was well patronised over the week-end, many enjoyable sets being played. i Mrs. E. Wilton has left for an extended ' holiday in North Auckland. Mr. E. Wilton is spending a few weeks with relatives at Hastings. /
