A Melbourne Murder

MEN SENTENCED FOR BURNING BODY. United Press Association. —By Electric Telegraph. —Copyright. MELBOURNE, Sept. 22. The two Italians, Cliiods and Audino, have been sentenced to two years’ imprisonment on charges of burning the body of Pctulla. The charred body of Kocco Pctulla, an Italian labourer, was discovered hidden in a wooden culvert at Balwyn, an outer suburb of Melbourne, by some schoolboys on May 14th. The attention of the boys was attracted to the scene by the fact that the culvert was smouldering, and they noticed a human log and remnants of burnt clothing. Medical examination revealed a severe fracture of the victim’s head, but the features were unrecognisable. The accused were acquitted of the murder of Petulla.
