Feilding Stock Sale
The N.Z. Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing Co., Ltd., Feilding, report on the Fcilding sale. The yarding of fat sheep was in excess of buyers’ requirements, and prices showed a further decline of Is Cd to 2s per head. Store sheep came forward in limited numbers. A keen demand existed, and prices were fully firm at last week’s prices. Beef is in very short supply and the offering was keenly competed for, values showing a sharp rise. Good quality dairy cows and heifers close to profit were in demand. Backward and inferior were sold at low rates. Quotations: —Far. hoggets, 20s, 22s Id. 24s Id. 255; fat sohrn wethers, 22s 2d, 23s <UI; fat ewes, 10s, 20s 4d. 20s 9d, 21s, 21s 4d, 22s 7d, 22s Od, 23s 7d; ewe hoggets, 2Ss, 28s 6d; wether hoggets, 19s 4d, 235; fat cows, £3 ss. £4, £5 10s, £6 10s. £6 15s, £7 17s fid, £9; fat heifers, £5, £5 12s (id. £6 2s 6d, £6 ISs, £7 12s 6d. £7 15s; springing heifers, £2 to £6 2s Gd; springing cows, £2 5s to £-1 4s 6d.
