At a meeting of the executive committee of the Manawatu-Oroua division of the Boys’ and Girls' Agricultural Clubs at Feilding on Friday, Mr. E. H. Lange (Wanganui Education Board) submitted a summary of the entries in tho 1034 calf club and root crop competitions. Details of these arc as follow: Calf Clubs. Group 3: Cheltenham, 12; Kiwitea, 7; Kimbolton, 3; Apiti, 12; Lytton Street, 5; total, 30. Group 4: Ashhurst, .10; Bunnythorpe, 12; Eaumai, 5; Pohangina, .12; total, 30. Group 5: AAvahuri, 0; Tc Arakura, 7; Colyton, 5; total, 2J. Group G: Sandon, 3; Ohakea, 3: Clydesdale, G; YVaitohi, 4; total, 16. In connection Avitli a. proposal by the Southern Hawke's Bay Calf Clubs’ committee as to tho holding of a grand championship competition of calves from Southern Hawke's Bay, HoroAvhcnua, Manawalu. Oroua and Wairarapa, the meeting decided that it could not support the idea first because it Avas considered impracticable, and secoud because it ayus not desired to roster the spirit of showmanship among the children. It was a.lso considered that the classes for calves offered by the A. and P. associations Averc all that was necessary to promote a. healthy interest in the movement.
