A Novel Entertainment
The Returned Soldiers’ Association has kindly offered to arrange a big community’- sing and concert programme in the Opera House on Tuesday next in aid of the Mayor’s Relief Fund. The R.S.A. comprises some excellent talent and has a reputation for doing things in a novel way. Whilst the audience will have ample opportunity for joining in community singing, the progremme will comprise items of a diverting nature. For instance, there will be a presentation before the audicuoo of tho latest advance in bloodless surgery’. A returned soldier has consented to have his head cut oil and later replaced without any ill effects and this item alone will give everyono a thrill worth the prico of admission. The “Houlihan” Cup won at the second big community sing will be defended by' the A.wahuri Native Party against all comers. Poi dances, songs and hakas will add to the bill of fare. The song leaders are Messrs Chapman Bros, and Mr. Frank McLachlan will be at the piano. Miss A. Sutherland will be heard in vocal solos and this singer is sure of a hearty' reception.
