Bunnythorpe

From Our Own Correspondent. The burlesque court produced by tho Bunnythorpe Debating Society in aid of the school radio fund proved a great success. The hall was well filled and as a result of the effort tho radio fund will benefit considerably. The burlesque'took the form of a supreme court trial for broach of promise. The case lasted for over two hours, yet the audience was held throughout. The finding of a verdict of Id damages for plaintiff brought a fitting climax to an enjoyable evening. The personnel of the court were:—Judge, Mr. A. F. McKenzie; registrar, Mr. W. J. Webb; court orderly, Mr. A. O.'Donnell; Plaintiff, Mr. K. Cameron; defendant, Mr. O. Jackson; counsel for plaintiff, Mr. P. Tulloeh; counsel for defendant, Mr. J. Smith; witnesses, Miss N. Purnell, Mrs. Cameron and Mr. J. Jarrett. The follow'ing jury was empanelled: Messrs Abraham (foreman), E. Jefferies, H. Hughes, H. Godfrey, W. B. Duthie, J. Fowler, C. Powell, H. Robson, A. Guy, A. E. Guy, W. Ansen, J. Pinfold. On the completion of the mock court the hall was cleared and dancing entered into and enjoyed until an early hour. Mrs. Cameron, Mr. C. Powell and Mr. Hooper provided the music, , Mr. A. E. Guy is at present visiting Wanganui, whero he will participate in the amateur golf championships held during the -week-end. Mr. J.
