Windfall to Family Of Princess Marina
RUSSIAN TREASURE CHESTS RESTORED TO AUNT United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) BELGRADE, Sept. 5. Unexpected good fortuno has befallen Prince Marina’s family. Nine hundred chests of treasure, saved after the revolution in Russia by General Wrangel’s forces, will be returned after ten years’ litigation to the rightful owner, Princess Marina’s. aunt, the Grand-Duchess Marie Georgievna, whose first husband, the Grand Duke George of Russia, was killed by the Bolsheviks in 1919. The treasure lies in the strongrooms of the Yugoslav Ministry of Finance, and includes a unique collection of gold coins lent before the war by the Grand Duke George for exhibition at St. Petersburg. The treasure was moved thence to Moscow and thence to the Caucasus and Yugoslavia. Gen,eral Wrangel sold a portion in London. The Royal Betrothed PRINCESS TO VISIT BRITAIN (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Sept. 5. It is expected that Prince George will return to London from Yugoslavia early next week. Princess Marina of Greece, his fiancee, will visit England a week or two later and will probably stay at Balmoral Castle with the King and Queen.
