Utuwai
From Our Own Correspondent. Quite a number of the younger set have acquired a liking for badminton and havo recently spent several interesting afternoons practising. On Saturday night the hall was hired for tho purpose, and a large number of young people spent a bright evening in playing badminton and other competitions. Visitors attended from Awahou, Mt. Richards Road and Umutoi. Supper was served by tho ladies, after which play continued until midnight Utuwai sheep farmers did not lose so many lambs as would be expected during the snow. The percentage of losses was small as compared with other districts. Miss IC Coup, of Foxton, has been spending tho holidays with her parents at Utuwai. Mr. H. Coup, of Wellington, has also been visiting “Springdale” on vacation. Mrs. Wilkinson and Mrs. Waddingtor), of Feildlng, have been visiting Mrs. J. McEwen, Utuwai. Miss Joan Pringle, of Levin, is the guest of Mrs. A. Coup, Utuwai.
