Mr and Mrs S. B. Thomson, of Elmira avenue, leavo for Auckland to-morrow to join the Niagara for Honolulu, where they will spend an extended holiday.

Mrs A. F. Francis and Mr and Mrs Maurico Francis, of Hunterville, are spending a fortnight’s holiday at Masterton and aro the guests of Mr and Mrs A. Hubbard.

Mrs T. T. Humphrey, of Danncvirko, who has had to enter a private hospital in Palmerston North for an operation, is now making good progress towards recover}-, her friends will be glad to know.

Mesdamcs L. Cooper, A. McKcgg, A. E. Ekstedt, J. F. Field and H. McDowell, members of the Manawatu Ladies’ Golf Club, left for Mastcrton on Tuesday to competo iu the Masterton ladies’ golf tournament.

Miss M. Prideaux Pridham, M.A., of Kelburrr, Wellington, is now a member of the staff of the Palmerston North Girls’ High .School. Miss E. F. Peglar, M.A., who has nccopted a position on the staff of tho Otago South High School, forwarded her resignation to the Palmerston North High Schools’ Board on Tuesday evening, stating that the term of two and a-half years’ service at tho Girls’ High School had proved a very pleasant one. The board decided to send Miss Peglar a letter of congratulation on her new appointment.
