From Our Own Correspondent. Rifle Shoting. The Ashluirst Defenco Rifle Club held their weekly shoots last week. Wednesday members shot at the 300 and 500 yards ranges, while Saturday members tired over the 300 and 000 yards. .Both days were dull with a bad snooting light and a variable left wind. Bight misty snowers marred the shoots and conditions were so bad at 600 yards that oventually the shooting had to bo abandoned with several members not being able to compete. At the completion of Saturday’s shoot Mr. W. It. Kells presented the various trophies won during the season. lie congratulated them on their performances and on their enthusiasm on turning out ou such a bad day. ire also suited that it gave him pleasure to see so many young shots among the members and asstireu them that after 30 years of shooting lie was still convinced that rifle shooting was one of the uest and cleanest sports tnat anyone could take up as a hobby. Tlie cluu president, Mr. W. It. itomley, on .thanking Mr. Kells, said it showed how enthusiastic he was in coming out on such a bad day.
