NEW YORK CITY CLIMBS DOWN United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. Deceived Wednesday, 8.30 p.m. NEW YORK, Sept. 20. Rather than have the Stock Exchange .move to New Jersey, with a loss of financial prestige as well as of real estate values to the city, the municipal government to-day scrapped the stock transfer and brokers’ profit taxes on the exchange, and announced that the plans for moving haa ween cancelled, and that the exchango will continue to do business in its Wall Street building.
