IN YOTO, SPAKE TIME To make a shopping bag from, an old soft straw hat, Temove the brim and put tie liat into cold water, and after soaking for some time take out and shape into the form of a bag. When shaped, hang up with two clothpins to dry. Work a design in thick wool of different colours, line with a pretty cotton material in corresponding colours, and crotchet around the top-edge. Cut the two straps from the brim, crotchet these around the edges and fasten to the bag with a buttonhole stitch with a thick linen thread.
