Theft of Goods
PENALTIES INFLICTED Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. Five young men who pleaded guilty yesterday to stealing goods from their employers, and,in most cases, receh'ing goods knowing them to have been dishonestly obtained, were dealt with today. The chief offender, James Kerr Stewart, was fined £3O and admitted to probation for two years, a condition being the refunding forthwith of £l2, representing damago done to the goods. Rooderkerk was placed on prooation for three years and Simpson for two. Lowe was admitted to probation for a year and was ordered to make the restitution of £2 5s 6d, the value of the goods damaged by him. Cook also received a year’s probation and was ordered to make good £2, the value of goods unrecoyered, ,
