Feilding Stock Sale
N.Z. Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing Go., Ltd., report on Fcilding stock sale: —
We submitted a medium yarding of sheep and an entry of SGI cattle of all classes. Fat sheep sold on a par with last week, while fat hoggets were slightly easier. The demand for store hoggets was keen and prices were up Ls to Is 6d on previous sale. Beef prices opened very firmly but .the market was over-supplied and values declined slightly toward the end of the sale. A large entry of station cattle were in active demand and prices were firm. Values in the dairy section were in and out-, but a satisfactory clearance was made. Quotations: Fat ewes, prime heavy, 17s lOd to 19s; others, 16s 6d to 16s 8d; fat wethers, prime heavy, 235; lighter 20s to 21s 9d; prime maiden ewes, 20s 7d; fat hoggets, prime, 15s to 17s 7cl; lighter, 14s Cd to 14s Sd; 2 and 4-tooth ewes r.w. S.D. rams, medium quality, 18s 6d; wether hoggets, 14s 7d to 15s 2d. Cattle: Fat bullocks unfinished, £6 4d; fat heifers, prime, £5 to £6 ss; others, £3 15s .to £4 7s Gd; prime cows, £5 7s 6d to £5 17s Gd; others, £3 to £4 ss; unfinished, £2 10s to £2 17s Gd; forward cows, £2 to £2 14s; P.A. cows, r.w. P A. bulls, £3 2s to £3 Gs; yearling P.A. heifers, 30s; 41yr bullocks, £4 19s; 34yr steers, £4 4s to £4 Ss Gd; 2{ t yr steers, £3 9s to £4; yearling P.A. steers, £2 3s 6d. Dairy cattle: Sp. heifers, best, £4 l-s sto £6 2s Gd; backward, £3 to £4 10s; cows in milk, £4 Ss to £4 15s; sp. cows, £5 to £G; cows in calf, £3 to £4 15s; store cows,. 15s to 30s; yearling heifers, 28s Gd to £2 12s.
