Magistrate’s Court

Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., presided at the Palmerston North Magistrate's Court yesterday. Norman John Ash, car salesman, of Wellington, £4 in arrears with maintenance due his wife at 10s a week, was sentenced to 14 days’ imprisonment, warrant to be suspended on payment of arrears. Herbert William Howard, labourer, of Wanganui, £9 in arrears with maintenance due his wife and six children at the rate of £1 a week, was sentenced to 14 days’ gaol, to be released on payment of arrears.
