CATHRO BEATS SILK Playing in an inter-club match at Castlecliff at the week-end, L. Cathro, of Castlecliff, defeated Brian Silk, the Kirk-Windeyer Cup player. TWO A DAY Two holes in one on the same course on a Eingle day is a most unusual occurrence which took place at Waiohiki last week, says the Napier Daily Telegraph. The first player to accomplish this feat was F. C. Fryer, captain of the Napier Golf Club, whose tee-snot at the temporary fourth, 120 yards, sank into the cup. In the afternoon round H. E. Troutbeck followed suit at the seventeenth, a distance of 150 yards. Neither of these players has experienced the “ hole-in-one” feeling before, but one of the members with whom they were playing has now seen the “perfect fluke” done five times, in addition to having accomplished it twice himself-
