The Late Mr S. Macaulay
PULPIT REFERENCES AT ST. ANDREW’S At St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church yesterday Rev. G. T. Brown made reference to the passing of the late Mr. S. Macaulay. “To-day,” he said, ‘ ‘ this congregation mourns deeply over tho loss of one of its most loyal and devoted friends and supporters. Many will never know just how much wo as a congregation owed to his strong and sturdy advocacy of what was right. Ho was a man who did not wear his heart on his sleeve or expose his deepest soul to general view, but those who came closest to him, aye, and his minister too, knew what a loyal heart and a devoted spirit ho bore —a heart sensitive to the finest influences and a spirit alert and keen for the things that wero good. He was a man of real faith in God, of deep concern for his church and of generous assistance to its work. To-day, and I trust through all these days of deep and terrible sorrow, our heart’s prayer will pour forth for his widow and family and for all who have been afflicted.”
