N.Z. CHAMPIONS COMING Wc have every reason to be proud of tho performances of our representatives in the New Zealand championships and at our tournaments, so when a challenge was issued to all coiners it was not surprising that some of the best amateurs in tho Dominion took it up and tho meeting of those with our lads to-morrow night at tho Showgrounds stadium will stand out as one of the greatest contests amongst amateurs over seen in the country. Hutchinson and Lack aro New Zealand champions, Pajo and Razos expect to be, and others accepting aro runners-up in tho big annual contest, so our lads will have to put up great performances to keep their reputations. With such a team as Benton, Anderson, Young, ■Hart, Anthony, Grindrod and perhaps our champion cruiser, Ron Newth, local enthusiasts feci that we can more than hold our own. There will bo 12 bouts at least as there are that .number of experienced visiting men coming and the local association has to find a man at the visitor’s weight to keep up Palmerston North’s end. To-morrow night will be a big night with the amateurs and the event should draw a crowded house at the low rates for admission.
