June Wedding Celebrated at Pahiatua
PINT OLD-r—H OLD AW A Y A pretty and quiet -wedding -was celebrated in St. Peter’s Church, Pahidtua on Wednesday, June 21, -when Mary Thelma, fifth daughter of Mr and Mrs E. S. Holdaway, of Ballance, was united in the bonds of Holy matrimony to HaTry Longhurst' (Dick), elder son of Mr and Mrs T. Pinfold, of Konini. The Rev. V. A. Bianchi, vicar of Pahiatua, was the officiating clergyman. -, . The brido, who wore a becoming costume of royal blue afgalaine, with hat and shoes to tone, looked very charming a 3 she entered the church oil the arm of her brother, Mr D. S. Holdaway. She carried a bouquet of bronze chrysanthemums with touches of for-: sythea viridissima and relieved with gypsoplin. She was attended by . her sister, Miss Amy-Holdaway, as bridesmaid,- who wore a frock of pale blue wool crepe de chine and carried 0. bouquet of pink chrysanthemums andgypsophlia.' Mr William Walker, of Bnllance, acted as best man. After the ceremony tho bridal, party left, for the photographer's, and thence to the hospital to visit the brides broth cr. who was unable to attend. Later about thirty guests assembled at the residence of the bride’s parents, where the, wedding breakfast "was partaken of. Mrs E. S. Holdaway received her guests wearing a smart navy blue costume and hat to match. She was assisted by Mrs S. Pinfold, who wore a handsome frock of navy marocam and hat to match. Many toasts were honoured, the first being “The King, followed by “The Happy Pair,” “The Bridesmaid,” “The Best Man,” .‘The Parents of tie Bride and Groom,” "Absent Relatives and Friends,” and "The fßev. Mt. Bianchi.” A. special toast was that of “The Bride’s Brother in hospital.” After the wedding ’ breakfast the happv pair left for Iho North for a short honeymoon trip, tho brido travelling in a brown diagonal velour coat, with hat and shoes to match. Outstanding among the many beautiful presents was a lovely chiming clock, this being tho bridegroom’s gift to the bride. The future home of Mr and Mrs H. L. Pinfold will be Mangamutu. . The pretty bouquets were the handiwork of Mrs D. S.' Holdaway.
