A Picturesque Wedding at Feilding
DEWE—THURSTON. A very picturesque wedding solemnised at mid-day on Wednesday in the Methodist Church, Feilding, was that of Annio Isabella, eldest daughter of Mr. and Airs. D. P. Thurston, Wanganui, and James Ellery, eldest son of Airs, and the late Air. AY. H. Dcwe, Grey street, Feilding. Tho Reverend E. 0. Blamires was the officiating clergyman and Mr. H. Crump was at tho organ. Decorations befitting tho occasion had been arranged in the church by friends of the bride and bridegroom and the edifice was well filled with guests and interested spectators. The bride, who was given away by her father, was very picturesque in a charmingly simple little robe of ivory satin benute with draped neckline, long sleeves slimlv fitting and pointed over the hands and trained skirt flaring from a shaped hipyoke. Her pretty scolloped and embroidered veil of ivory tullo was gathered to form a littlo cap which was wreathed with buds of orange blossom and orange blossom was clustered at either side of her head, Ivory satin shoes were worn, a necklet of pearls and a lovely bouquet of spring flowers, stock and sweetpeas tied with tulle was carried. Misses Afarjorie and Gladys Thurston, of Wanganui, attended their sister as bridesmaids and wore graceful frocks of Wedgewood blue georgette designed with shoulder capes and gored skirts and finished with bows at the back. Their French berets of silver .tinsel wero ornamented at the, back with a smart bow and their shoes and mittens were of a shade to tone with their frocks. Bouquets of pink flowers completed' very charming toilettes. The flower girl, little Betty Thurston, of Wellington (niece of the bride) wore a pretty Early Victorian frock of pale pink crepe-de-chine, her head was banded with rosebud trimmings and she carried a posy, of pink flowers. Air. L. Whitehead was best man and Air. H. Dewe groomsman. Following the ceremony a reception was hold at the Carlton tea-rooms, whore some SO guestswore entertained. Airs. Thurston received in a navy blue costume, navy hat and. carried a posy of daphne and violets, Airs. Dewe also wore a navy suit and hat and carried daphne and violets. The decoration of the Caritoh was artistically carried out with streamers, flowers and greenery and the very boautifiil wedding cake that occupied pride of place on the bridal table was a gift from the best man. . Air. and ■Mrs.-Jim Dewe later left for Wellington, Airs. Dewe travelling an a smart brown suit; 1 a blouse of flame satin and brown hat, shoes and fur.
