Tho appointment of Squadron-Leader T. M. Wilkes to be Controller of Civil Aviation in addition to his duties as Director of Air Services is gazetted.
Incuded among the guests at the Hotol Imperial, Palmerston North, are: Mr. R. J. Gray, Wellington; Messrs. Prank Aicken, J. Sawere, H. E. Greig, and J. Bradley, all of Wellington. Pleasure that two of its members, Messrs R. Ross and W. Brookie, were progressing satisfactory after recent illnesses was expressed at last night’s annual meeting of the Palmerston North Bowling Club, and the secretary was instructed to write to each conveying tho club’s best wishos for a speedy recovery. Brown, of Waiata, and Mr. Francis Brown, of Wanganui, are brothers of Rev. W. Orr Brown, who also has a number of friends in tho Ashhurst and Bunnythorpo districts,
