Johnsonville Sale
Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., and Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on Johnsonville sale held on Tuesday as follows: — To the usual attendance of buyers we submitted a full yarding of all classes of stock. The cattle yarding comprised mostly prime quality heavy bullocks, cows and heifers with a few pens of lighter sorts. Competition was keen at last week’s rates. Sheep generally were of good quality and met a good demand at prices showing no alteration on last week’s quotations. There was little demand for lamb. We quote: — Prime extra heavy bullocks, £8 3s, £B, £7 I7s 6d, £7 15s; prime heavy bullocks, £7 10s, £7 ss, £7, £6 15s, £6los, £6 ss, £6; prime heavy cows and heifers, £4 10s, £4 os, £4, £3 15s, £3 10s, £3 ss; light and unfinished cows and heifers, £1 17s, £1 12s fid, £1 Bs, £1 ss; runners, £2 11s, £2 2s, £2, £1 17s fid, £1 16s, £1 14s, £1 11s, £1 7s 6d,£l 3s. Prime heavy wethers, 18s 3d, ISs, 17s Bd, 17s sd; medium wethers, 17s, 16s lOd, 16s 9d, 16s 6d; light and unfinished wethers, 15s 6d, 14s sd, 14s; prime heavy ewes, 13s Bd, 13s 6d, 13s 3d; medium ewes, 12s lOd, 12s 9d, 12s sd, 11s 6d; heavy hoggets, 16s 2d, 15s 6d, 15s; light hoggets, 14s, 13s 6d, 13s 4d; heavy lambs, 16s 9d, 16s, 15s 6d, 15s 3d, 15s; lambs, 13s 4d.
