Bobinson, J. Ellery, G. Wiggins, F. Simpson and P. Ellery. Eangitikei Golf Club. The sealed score competition, held on the Eangitikei links on June 10 and played in conjunction with the ladies’ v. men match, resulted in a win for A. K. Dreiv and M. C. Gould. Bride-to-bo Honoured. On Tuesday evouiug the Bulls Tennis Club tendered a gift evening to one of its most popular lady members, Miss Myrtle Green, whose marriage to Mr. V. Andrew, of Parewanui, takes place next week. The Town Hall supper room was -well filled with Tennis Club members and other friends of the young couple, who were the recipients of a wondrous assortment of practical kitchen gifts. The function was indeed a great occasion and went with a swing under tho capable control oi Messrs M. E. Mansell and L. Hillier. An amusing programme of games was interspersed with dancing, and for the non-dancers card games were organised. During the evening two excellent elocutionary items were rendered by Mr. Henry Burtt. Prior to the opening of the mystery parcels Mr. _ A. vv. Anion, president of the Tennis Club, called for cheers for the young couple, and spoke in glowing terms of Miss Green, both as a prominent member of the club and as a citizen of the town. Mr. Andrew responded briefly and in thanking friends for their gifts expressed thanks to tho club for promoting tho evening.
Bangitikei v. Te Matai Lady Golfers. A match was played at Bulls on Wednesday between ladies of Rangitikei and Te Matai (Palmerston North) Golf Clubs, tho visitors winning by 8 games to 5, one being halved. The weather was overcast and the links were wet after recent rain, malang things anything but pleasant. Eollowing are the details (Rangitikei players being mentioned first): —Mrs. McDonell lost to Miss Jcpson; Mrs. Dean lost to Mrs. McMurray; Mrs. Harris lost to Mrs. Colquhoun; Mrs. Trlcker beat Mrs. Simpson; Mrs. Anderson lost to Mrs. Bott; Miss Price lost to Mrs. Ciochetto; Mrs. Scott boat. Mrs. Morrison; Miss Brookio halved with Mrs. Glendinning; Miss Palmer lost to Mrs. Bennett; Miss Goodall beat Mrs. Cumborworth; Mrs. Shaw beat Mrs. Marsack; Miss Eagan lost to Miss Tennant; Mrs. Hendry lost to Mrs. Parkes.
