Feilding Horse Fair
The New Zealand Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing Co., Ltd., report on Feilding horse sale:—An offering of about 100 horses camo forward, our entry comprising 41 light and heavy draughts and 36 harness horses, hacks and ponies. Buyers were in attendance from Taranaki, Rangitikei, Wairarapa and "Wellington districts. Competition for good sorts in all sections was keen, and prices realised were, for the most part, in excess of vendors’ anticipations: — Quotations: Unbroken Syr colt, £3l; do. yearling, £l6; heavy draught geldings, 4yr, £2B to £32; Gyr do., £27 *to £35; aged do., £lO to £27; heavy draught marcs, Gyr, £25 to £37 10s; 7yr do., £2B to £3O 10s; light draught geldings, £l6 to £22 10s; mares, £lB to £26; farm sorts, £l6 to £22 10s; hacks, good £8 to £11; others, £4 10s to £7; crocks, 20s to 30s; ponies, £4 to £0 10s.
It is intended to hold a special spring sale at a later date, and it is desired that those who will favour us with their entries will forward particulars of their entry as soon as possible. We anticipate a keen demand for broken and unbroken draughts. The date of the fixture will bo advertised at a later date.
